New Bow Maycast not working?

I have had the bows for a while now, and a friend and I have noted that the Maycasts do not seem to work. Neither of us, who have done quite a bit of testing, Have gotten it to work. Anyone else having this problem?

I think the may casts only happen when you hit someone using a wand hit. That's what happens when I use a wand hit with my Eye of the Soothsayer.

Have you tried that?
