Can't blade myself or others properly

Whenever I try to blade myself or others it puts the blade on someone I did not click on. Is there some way to fix this?

Hi! Could it be the targets will not allow the blade to be placed? It could be a school limitation or resist of some kind.

Are you fighting a boss called Medulla? He's infamous for doing that.
