Obsidian Chest Dialogue

The obsidian chest quest obtained from Ashley the fire tree still uses dialogue from when there we 8 chests. Ex: "Oh you found all 8 pieces!"

What happened to those anyway? I did that quest a few years ago, but when watching someone else play she only had to collect five or so. I kinda liked having to revisit old worlds for a new goal, but I guess that it is easier now.
