What is the rate of time flow in the Spiral? During the five B.O.X.E.S. event we are brought into contact with younger versions of the Professors. Cyrus had hair and a non dour outlook at one point. During Avalon questing we meet Young Morganthe. How long was Mrs. Drake gone to the Other Side. Ashley the fire tree in Dragonspyre mentions the Dragon Titan being released in ancient history. But, Cyrus and Malistaire are young and all the people of Dragonspyre are alive at varied points in the game. How old is the Headmaster?
To explain this in brief detail, time in the Spiral does not function like time here on Earth.
According to the last story time post the developers did, we were told time in the Spiral is governed by magic versus Earth's time which is governed by nature.
So we can safely assume the time moves differently for every world in the Spiral. Thus explaining how some worlds are ancient and ruined, while others may seem extremely primitive, and some extremely advanced.
Which means each world has its own unique timeline. So an event which happened in Celestia could be ancient history one world breaking news to another.
Given howthe Spiral's timelines are governed by magic, they therefore be manipulated. Which is what allows us to travel backwards and perhaps theoretically forwards in time.
So just as an example, what might be 10 years in Ravenwood could be 100 years or more in Dragonspyre.

The flow of time in the spiral is a relative factor depending on what world you are talking about.
It's likely that certain worlds are moving faster or slower than others through space and therefore through time. That's why a decade in one world can be a thousand years in another. It's a tricky thing to be precise about in the game's story but I think you could figure out the specifics if you payed attention to certain clues in the dialog.
To put it simply, the flow of time is not uniform across all worlds in the spiral.
