If deleting is not acceptable, then at least let us change the account name! Some people do not want to use account names chosen on accident, or when we were too young!

Nobody can see your account name only you so I fail to see why you need to delete your account. You can always delete your wizards if you have a name you're unhappy with. To me it seems a pretty odd request because you could be deleting mounts or items you bought with crowns that could be transferred to another wizard.
No one sees a username except for you. If you mean wizard names, those are unable to be changed and would be hard to implement. However, you can delete a wizard if you wish and create a new one
