Shadow Seraph usage is very limited compare every other shadow spell, and players some avoid using shadow seraph for healing. Shadow Seraph like every shadow spell. have backlash but healing is the only solution to decreasing it, though it would be nice that healing charms/wards would effect backlash like other shadow spell do.
Unfortunately, almost all of the shadow spells are now completely unused. None of them are good enough at what they do to be more powerful than using the shadow pips for shadow-enhanced spells. Seraph's healing bonus is good... but no one needs that much healing, except potentially in the Renegade Druid, where the bonus incoming damage is a death sentence. Sentinel's 10% absorb is similarly useless, since not only is 10% not a large amount, no one deals enough damage to make that worth the turn, let alone the shadow pip. Shrike has niche use (Cerberus in Tartarus springs to mind), but again, it's almost entirely not worth wasting the shadow pip on, especially if trying to deal damage.
