No, it's meant to be obvious. Professor Moriarty was one of the main villains in the Sherlock Holmes stories, and in Marleybone you work closely with "Sherlock Bones" and his sidekick Watson.
The egg that always makes me laugh the most is when you get back to the girl with the mended Krokotopian necklace and she says, "Oh, you went to Jared." I will admit though, that this one went over my head. Didn't ever read any Sherlock Holmes.
