I read that Order of the Fang was formed to protect the Golden Fang.
I still haven't understood that part. On wikia it says they group was formed to fight against the bad tuts and they created the book and the golden fang to aid them.
But in a quest (of vault of ice) it said they formed the group to protect the fang.

It's a game... it all doesn't have to make sense or be perfect. Just enjoy playing!
Like what RavenLady said, logic is sometimes forgotten but its up to you as the person playing to make everything fit :)
With the order of the Fang, they were created to defend the manders and everyone else against the evil huts, im not really 100% sure myself on the golden fang creation/defense stories though :)
