Before someone complains that I am asking for a "pay to win" method, let me explain. We can all agree that darkmoor's three dungeons are very very very very very *goes on for a week saying very* difficult. I suggest that the Mali gear sets be added to the crowns shop without a gifting option for 15 thousand crowns. So those who pretty much CANT get through will be able to be to get their gear. There will still be a motivation for doing the first few (for your shadow fused spell) but a not necessity to get good gear for that level.
Option B: Make the gear set auto drop the full Hat/Robe/Boots/Wand set on the final Malistaire form to properly award said players who made it through.
Now if you excuse me, I must cry through the first dungeon still :(
well even though we would all want that ( also for waterworks and hades gear ) i'm not sure it's going to be able to happen cause in my opinion if they make this auto drop they're going to have to make all the others auto drop tartarus ( how ever you spell it ) and waterworks included. but if by any chance KI considers this it would help a lot of frustrated people ( including me ) and save a LOT of time. cause as we all know farming takes up most of the day and who has the time for questing after they spend all day farming for one piece of gear
No matter what you say, it's pay to win. It's not gonna happen and that's how it should be. The only tolerable options would be a second chance chest or raising the drop rate.

I for one hope they never do either. I also don't think they would. KI is in the business of running a game. Part of that means an element of chance and keeping players busy. If everyone gets everything without any real effort or time spent and has nothing left to do, they LEAVE. That means no more income for KI, that means no more game for you to play. It's not in KI's best interest to save you time, it's in their interest to provide fun & challenging reasons to keep playing.
If you feel Crown Shop purchasable gear is the answer to your question/concern, then I believe KI has already fulfilled your need.
I'm an exalted necromancer using the "Eligiac Attire" for Level 95+ while questing/farming, and I find it suits me just fine. If I find that resistances are more of a factor in a duel, then I switch to my Jade gear. NOTE: I am NOT telling you what gear to purchase, or how to play.
Please keep in mind, I wouldn't attempt to solo Darkmoor with ANY gear set I acquired, as I believe that endgame content strongly requires a group to complete.
I suggest this to the OP specifically, as it sounds like you may have the capability to purchase Crown gear, seeing your suggestion to KI.
On a side note, if you just need help, try playing on more active Realms, and always make sure your pet, spell deck, and accessory gear are all up to par. A quick introduction, likes/dislikes, and role establishment among your group will lower wasted time/effort once inside a dungeon.
No no no. The top gear should never be sold. Crafted or dropped only.
I'd be ok with an automatic drop for something, or a token/ticket system where you got an extra item after a certain number of runs.
I wish the best gear was craftable only instead of dropped. Maybe that's an alternative to auto dropping the gear. How about when you complete the dungeon and turn in the quest you get crafting recipe(s)? Or once you've completed the quest/dungeon, it unlocks the recipes at a recipe vendor. That might be a decent alternative.
If KI wants to encourage replay value of dungeons, put other rare drops in like they did in Mirror Lake with the Leopard pet and Sidhe gear. Put in something that will encourage the hardcore dungeon runners to keep coming back, but won't leave others who don't have the time or desire to keep running the same dungeons over and over feeling like they're missing out on something vital to future success if they don't get it.
i have done over 500 runs on 3 wizards and still don't have even one full set. that said, the gear from castle dread-more does not belong in the crown shop; that's as pay-to-win as it gets.
however, one of the following needs to happen:
-instance length is decreased -instance is made soloable -drop rate is increased -gear within x runs -token/keys for gear (trade system) after x runs
-von "most likely to still be farming castle dread-more for said gear 3 years from now" shadowsong exalted
