1st gen other than just hatching to get the pets model are not normally very good. Many have selfish talents and stuff that's not global. You can rehatch off a 1st gen to improve it but then its going against what your saying making 1st gen appealing to hatch. Its up to the players to move the good stuff out of the junk pets to make better ones :-)
