Ok I don't get it. I just turned level 40 and now have new access to grizzleheim. Right away it sent me todefeat Jotun who has 3 minions and he himself who has 9000 health. I thought you don't encounter this difficulty till level 50

If you do a "search" at the top of this page, you will find many posts about Jotun.
And maybe this will help:
I found it easier to do Nidavellir in three parts: Helgrind Warren, Winterdeep Warren, then the Hall of Valor. That way, I eliminated two of his brothers in the first two areas. So there was only Jotun and one of his helpers left. That made it much easier.
This link gives details on the three areas, and it has a good map for Winterdeep Warren that will help you avoid extra battles in that area. Don't forget to pick up the "book" in there too. Before you go "up the ramp" at the end to get Grettir, turn left and the book is in that area.

Sadly it has always been this way. You must defeat him to gain access to Ravenscar. I do usually wait until I am higher level because once I am done with Ravenscar I enter Wintertusk.
