Defeating a Manascale Sorcerer and not gettin

I have defeated three manascale sorcerers but only received one knowledge crystal. Does anyone know why this is happening?

It's all part of the "defeat and collect" quests. It only gets worse as you advance in the game. Everybody goes through it. Sorry.

Because it's one of the infamous "do not collect" quests. Just keep battling - you'll get them eventually.

When you set out on a collect quest the mobs will have a % chance of dropping the item needed. So just like when you fizzle a spell its just a roll of the dice on each mob you defeat.
