Are you talking about those little 3 ft. stones next to the large glowy globes? Those would be teleport stones. They do nothing by themselves. But when you get further into the zone and see a similar one, click on it. That activates the other end of the portal, and from then on, you can use that pair of stones to teleport back and forth.
I LOVE TELEPORT STONES! They made Grizzleheim a delight to get around.
(And if those aren't the stones you're talking about, then I don't know. Try describing them a little better.)
