I've read the forums and wiki on this boss but he doesn't follow the cycles like I've seen others write. For me this boss is entirely unbeatable.
This is what happens:
1 they always get 1st strike. 2 Frostbranch casts effret for 1000 + dmg -- uses no pips 3 then casts quake for another 200 + dmg -- uses no pips 4 then casts 2 -50% smoke screens & a stun
5 I loose my turn
6 Minion attacks with a DOT spell
7 Frostbranch attacts with wyvern 400 + dmg 8 then casts effret again for 1000 + dmg -- uses no pips 9 then casts quake for 200 + dmg -- uses no pips 10 then casts 2 -50% smoke screens & another stun
11 I loose another turn
12 Minion attacks with another DOT spell
13 Frostbranch attacks with wyvern for 400 + dmg 15 then casts effret again for 1000 + dmg
16 I'm dead never getting a single turn
I went after him with 3 other 60 + level people. The same cycle happens except Frostbranch casts effret on the whole party and cast the ice meteor strike instead of wyvern. Every round we are all stunned. The whole party looses every time without getting to cast a single spell. After the 10th time we all gave up.

Yeah, I still have that quest too. I never tried fighting him, (maybe cause I'm too lazy lol) and I just wondered if I could get a friend or two and we could show him who's boss :)
