same wih me. it is because the rapeted sound of rain makes you bored and fall asleep. like if you watch a really boring show you fall asleep.

That's funny. My very first wizard is Life and Storm. And she is still my favorite! I have had a wizard for each school, deleted some of them because I couldn't get the hang of that particular school, but still kept many others from different schools too.
After Life school, my favorite used to be Storm, because it is so powerful. I still have a Storm wizard, but she is kind of "predictable" but still powerful. I know that I can use her, go in and do what I have to do, and that's it.
I think that my most favorite now, after Life, would be my Death and Ice wizard. I like that I can "steal" health and still survive, and with Death I also can heal others too.
I also have (in order of preference) a Myth, Ice, and Fire wizard. They are all good in their own way. It just depends on "how" I feel like playing at any given time.
Try different schools to see which ones you like. If you find you don't really like one, you can just delete it and start a new one. Either way, have fun and enjoy the game !
I too have started and deleted wizards from each school. Personally I had very little luck with Storm due to the high fizzle rate and ended up using my secondary school most. I have a legendary ice wizard who is great and has amazing life but is not having a grand time in Wintertusk. I am now working on a Myth wizards who just reached level 46 this morning. I love Myth. Myth would fit that "independent" streak since a lot of Myth wizards tend to fight alone due to the minions we have at our disposal. :)
There are three main types of combat: Offense, Defense, and Support
Offense: Storm, Fire Defense: Ice, Life Support: Balance, Death, Myth
While many schools blur the lines between these categories, this is how I would basically classify them.
You have a Life character, a defensive school type. I recommend playing a support class next, followed by an offense one. This will allow for a smooth transition from the familiar.
