It's random. When something only happens about once in 25 times, you can get it immediately or not for hundreds of tries. It could take a long time to get what you want.
The best approach is to farm for all your wizards at once. I used my storm wizard this weekend to farm Viktor and received: 3 grand ice hats, 2 grand fire hats, the grand life shoes, level 45 fire amulet, 2 skeloton pets and a bunch of myth stuff. It's kind of fun to see what you get!

It's random. When something only happens about once in 25 times, you can get it immediately or not for hundreds of tries. It could take a long time to get what you want.
Getting what you want is like gambling in a casino. You could get it first try, after 1000 tries or never!
I believe the longest it took me for a piece of GM gear was 33 attempts; which really isn’t that bad for the best item of its class in the game. It is random and just takes patience.

It can be really frustrating. It took me 52 tries to get my Life boots from Viktor. I did get 2 Skeletal Warrior pets for my trouble though lol. Also didn't take as long as I thought it would to get the rest of my stuff. I lucked out with Tumok for my hat so Kraysys was no longer needed and the second chance chest got me my robe, athame, and ring. Still trying to get my Grand Life Deck. On the bright side my other wizards have a bunch of their Grand stuff now from all my farming. Only missing the robe for my Ice wizard. If you have friends who are willing to farm with you and make a couple of runs at a time you will get them eventually. Viktor is easy enough to farm several times in an hour and he re-spawns quickly. If you're alone, usually you will find someone fighting him when you get there. If not try switching realms a couple of times. Farming in the Spyre takes a bit more planning but it can be fun with the right group.
eh either they should allow us to sell them at the bazaar or increase the rate at which they drop.
i spent 4 and 1/2 hours farming my hat
then i spent over 6 hourse for shoes and didnt get them the next day i tried again and on the fifth try i got the shoes.
i got my ring from gurtok on the second try. and i had already gotten my robe early on from a previous grand master i have.
i've spent 2 days trying to get the athame from the other gurtok and havent gotten any athames other than the fire and ice ones i have repeatedly gotten.
