Wizard101 Partners with Wizard101 Central and Facebook for an Exclusive Contest!
We've recruited members of the fan site Wizard101 Central (http://www.Wizard101Central.com) to drive enthusiasts to the game’s Facebook page! All Wizard101 Central members will be rewarded based on the number of new Facebook fans who join between today and Sept. 16, 2009.

Getting the Danger Hound pet is easier than you think!

Step 1. Make sure you are a registered member of Wizard101Central. http://www.Wizard101Central.com
Step 2. If you are over the age of 13 and have a Facebook page, go to facebook.com/wizard101. If you are under the age of 13, ask a family member to invite their friends.
Step 3: Click the Suggest to Friends link on the left hand side of our Wizard101 Facebook page.

  No Need to trade your Treasure Cards for Codes!
There's no reason you need to give up your hard earned Treasure Cards to players who promise you codes! The one and only multi-use code that is currently active is 'spell'. All other generic word codes are deactivated. Remember - codes for the Umbra Sword are one use and cannot be exchanged!

  Article: Free to Play Spotlight - An Intro to Wizard 101
Marissa over at IGN has written up the first part of an article about Wizard101.

Wizard 101 debuted in September 2008 with relatively little fanfare. Unlike its competitors, it didn't have a known franchise, television station, or seasoned marketing machine behind it, but what it did have was a charm that captured many, young and old alike. The fact that it appealed to grownups as well was an unexpected but welcome surprise for its creators...

  Wizard101 Extended Downtime
Wizard101 the game will be offline for maintenance from 3am to approximately 6am* on August 5th 2009. Wizard101 Central now makes it simple for community members to create their own space within the community. Getting started is as simple as posting the first message. There is no lengthy setup process - blog owners are free to personalize their blog at any time by defining a title and a description that will appear at the top of every blog post.

  August Newsletter!
Each month we put out a Newsletter called the Ravenwood Bulletin (just like the one in the game!) and August is our 12th edition. You can find our Newsletter under the News section on the website, as well as at this link: August Ravenwood Bulletin

  Greetings young Wizards, and welcome to August! There are many students at Ravenwood these days and not everyone is behaving themselves! Recently a question was asked about what happens when a player gets reported for inappropriate language, and here's the details:

When you report someone, or you are reported, a message is sent directly to Mr Lincoln that includes the chat logs of everything that was said before and after that report.

Mr Lincoln then reads the log and assess the situation. He determines how bad the offense was, looks up prior offenses for the reported individual, and based on that assessment he issues sanctions such as muting or banning and sends an email to the offending account explaining the violation and the sanctions.

If the report was falsely made, that is determined as well, and the player who made the false report is investigated as to whether or not they have made previous false reports. False reports are just a egregious as valid ones, and similar sanctions can be levied against repeat offenders of false reporting.

Everything that a player enters into the chat window is logged. These larger chat logs are also routinely checked for those infractions that are not reported.

So please young Wizards, remember that what you say is being read by the faculty!
