Tips to Protect Your Child and Your Credit Card

Why?

1. This allows you to control whether your child has access to text chat (safe) or menu chat (safer).
2. You can control whether or not your child can exchange True Friend codes for unfiltered chat with their real life friends.
3. You establish a separate login that prevents your child from accessing billing and personal information.

How?

1. Log into your child’s account
2. Select My Accounts from left navigation
3. Scroll to bottom of page and click Configure Parental Controls button
   Note: Do NOT use your child’s password for your parental password
4. If you want your child to only have access to menu chat, click Disable button next to Filtered Text option.

Why?

1. If your child has that information, he/she can change the parental control features
2. If your child has the email address and access to the email account, he/she can request a new password (which will be sent to that email address) and change the password.

Why?

1. If you want to have your own account, you should setup a Master Account.
2. It allows you to use this account to manage personal and billing information for you and your child/children.
3. It helps you control exactly what is purchased in your and your child’s/children’s account(s).

How?

1. If you do not have a Wizard101 Account - Click the green Play button and create a new account for you.
2. If you already have a Wizard101 Account - Log in to your account.
3. Click My Accounts on the left menu.
4. Click Add Accounts button.
5. Select YOUR Account as the Family Master Account.
6. Click Save and add Family Member.
7. If you child has an account already, select Use Existing Account.
8. If your child does not have an account already, select Create New Account and create account.
9. When you have added all the accounts you want, click the Finished button.
   Note: You can add more accounts in the future but you cannot remove accounts once you have added them.

Why?

1. If your child has that information, he/she may be able to buy Crowns and Memberships without your permission.
2. If your child has the email address and access to the email account, he can request a new password (which will be sent to that email address) and change the password.

1. Anyone in your household who can access the master account or has your credit card, can make purchases without your permission.

How?

1. On the Checkout page where you enter your credit card information, do not check the box for “save your billing information".
2. This will prevent anyone from purchasing new Memberships or Crowns without your permission. Memberships will automatically renew without you re-entering your card.
