PLANO, TEXAS (July 16, 2014) – KingsIsle Entertainment donned a pair of waders, packed a virtual tackle box and went fishing today—with an all new, magical fishing sport in Wizard101.
“Ever since we created Wizard101, we knew we wanted to bring the magic of fishing to The Spiral,” said Josef Hall, vice president and creative director at KingsIsle Entertainment. “After six years of sustained success, we’ve now stocked the lakes and streams from Wizard City to MooShu with all kinds of fish and have given players a cool way to catch them.”
Fishing in Wizard101 involves casting magical orbs into bodies of water to act as both a lure and a float, drawing nearby fish to it and bobbing up and down when they bite. All your big whoppers and small fry fish are available to sell for a profit, to use in crafting recipes or to show off in your characters’ houses.
“We’ve taken an everyday pastime and turned it into a magical, rewarding and funny experience with a deep collection system,” said Hall. “Players will love showing off their new tanks full of ‘Codfather,’ ‘Brain Sturgeon,’ and ‘Sharkspeare’ fish they’ll now be catching.”
Log on to Wizard101 today at www.Wizard101.com and be on the lookout in the Wizard City Commons for Lucky Hookline, the Fishing Trainer, who is happy to train players in the fine arts of angling as a Wizard.
