macOS UPDATE WARNING – ACCESS TO WIZARD101
Apple will be releasing the macOS Catalina update anytime now. If you upgrade right away to Catalina, you will not be able to play Wizard101 or Pirate101.
The good news is that we’re working on making both games Catalina compatible. To ensure your game access is not interrupted, please wait to install Catalina until we announce full support for the new OS.
Thanks for your patience as we work on this updated functionality. We will notify you as soon as support for Catalina becomes available!
KI LIVE WITH SPARCK & PROFESSOR FALMEA

With KingsIsle’s QA Tester – Kayly Ginsberg (aka Vanessa Mythdust!)
Swordroll’s Blog released a new developer article with our very own Kayly Ginsberg, aka Vanessa Mythdust! Kayly has always showed interest in sharing her unique journey, so we were both eager and happy to collaborate and make this post happen!
“The tricky part of game development is that if you fix one bug, ten more could potentially be created. Some issues are super easy to spot (a feature not working), but others are harder to find and sometimes almost unnoticeable. For example, each terrain in Wizard101 and Pirate101 has a different sounding footstep. Whenever I test a new zone, I check to make sure that the footstep sound you hear corresponds with what you're walking on. If you're running up to a boss across some dirt, I'm going to make sure that you're actually hearing the dirt sound and not wood, stone, or grass. Little things like that are small details that I never really thought about as a player.” - Kayly Ginsberg
Just in time for this month’s Halloween contest, a reminder that we want to add a monthly spotlight of a decorated house or dorm room! If you have an amazingly extravagant and interesting house to share, or simply a cute, quaint one, please email a few screenshots to community@wizard101.com and we’ll get it spotlighted in one of the upcoming newsletters!
Please let us know your submission is for ‘Decorator’s Corner’, as we also received screenshots for our Facebook page and other content areas. Thanks!
FAN SCREENSHOT SPOTLIGHT
This screenshot is from Stephanie from the recent birthday celebrations (party!). Here she is riding her new Sinbad Hoard Pack Roc Mount. The party doesn’t start until Stephanie and her Roc Mount arrive!
FAN ART SPOTLIGHT
For this month’s spotlight, we are showcasing DarkRapier’s Balance Wizard at the beach:
"As I've spent time adventuring the Spiral with my Wizard101 characters, I've grown attached to the colorful stories that the game worlds and the NPCs have to offer. Because of that, I have decided to construct some of my own fan lore, based on my in-game characters. I hope through my digital paintings, I am able to offer a glimpse into another interpretation of the Spiral universe." - DarkRapier
We would love to see more screenshots and art from the community for next month’s newsletter. Do you have something amazing to share? Send it to us in an email to community@Wizard101.com! We’re always interested in showing off more fan art, gameplay guides, and other content.
Thanks, Wizards!
