Welcome to the June installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.
This month we look at a book that may make some zones of Wintertusk seem familiar! Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Brett Helquist. In this book Odd, a Viking boy, has to save the Norse gods by kicking a frost giant out of Asgard. Parts of the story may remind you of a fairy tale, and the Norse gods Odin, Thor, and Loki are sometimes really funny. It’s a great book to have someone read out loud (especially if they can do voices!).
Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!
