A Taste of Things to Come

Wizard101 Storm Professor Halston Balestrom   Greetings from the Spiral, young Wizards! The big news this month of course is the announcement of a new world of Celestia that has been discovered in the Spiral, and how our pets will soon become a very important part of Wizard life.

Harold Argleston has another installment of his Book of the Month club, featuring a story that reminds us of Krokotopia! There's help for a common mistake made by many players, a spotlight on Wizard101 Central and Mr. Lincoln has a stern warning to players who think they can get something for nothing.

Read more, and as news of Advanced Pets & Celestia becomes available, watch for it on the Ravenwood News.

Upcoming Wizard101 Expansions

Wizard101 HatcheryUpcoming Wizard101 Feature - New Pet Capabilities
An extensive Advanced Pet system is launching this spring. With this update players will have the opportunity to hatch customized pets from millions of potential combinations. The Advanced Pet system will bring a new dimension of interaction within Wizard101 as players can race their pets in the expansive Pet Derby, participate in new pet-themed minigames, feed and train them, and use them as allies in magic duels. Players will be able to level their pets from an egg to ancient beings with incredible powers.

Wizard101 Celestia  Upcoming Wizard101 World - Celestia
Rumors of Celestia have been found by young Wizards throughout the Spiral, and more clues are being uncovered. The new world of Celestia is inspired by Atlantis, and young Wizards will encounter new adventures and quests deep under the sea. Celestia also increases the level cap in Wizard101 from level 50 up to level 60, as well as introducing three new secondary schools of magic. Celestia will officially open in late summer. Starting in June players can undertake new quests to discover the secrets of this new world and begin to unlock the story behind Celestia.

Harold Argleston's Book of the Month Club

Wizard101 Librarian Harold Argleston  Welcome to the fourth installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.

Our fourth Book of the Month moves out of books that remind us of Wizard City and into books that have earmarks of the world of Krokotopia. This month, our featured book is The Jedera Adventure by Lloyd Alexander – Vesper Holly is a teenage girl in the Victorian era, but she has adventures worthy of Indiana Jones in North Africa. This series is not only suspenseful, but also really funny, mainly due to the cast of secondary characters.

Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!

Helpful Hint

null  Many young Wizards cry in panic when they jump into battle and find they don't have any cards but their wand cards.

No worries young Wizards, you simply forgot to equip your deck! Just like a hat or wand, you must equip a deck in order to use it. To equip items, select them in your backpack & press the hand icon to equip the item.

Items that have the little hand icon are what you currently have equipped. Items that have the little dollar icon were purchased with Crowns. Items that are greyed out, you cannot equip.

A Stern Warning from Mr. Lincoln

Wizard101 Registrar Mr Lincoln  A Lesson in Caveat Emptor
Just as we have all been instructed not to take candy from strangers, so should you know not to accept gifts from strangers. If you don't recognize the person who sent you the gift, don't accept it.

Since Gifting has come to the Spiral, I thought this might also be a good opportunity to remind our young Wizards to be wary of players promising gifts of mounts or other goodies, in exchange for your Treasure Cards.

Be sensible young Wizards, and ask yourselves if this person is really going to give you an item worth $30 of real money just for a few free Treasure Cards - the answer is, no, they're not. They're going to take your Treasure Cards and disappear. It's not a very nice thing to do, but all trades must be agreed upon by both parties. If the trade sounds too good to be true, it probably is, so don't accept the trade.

Please remember, reporting someone for 'scamming' you out of Treasure Cards is not valid, since you both had to agree to the trade. If what you see in the Trade window is not fair, regardless of what the player told you, don't agree to the trade, simple as that. Caveat emptor is a very powerful lesson to learn, young Wizards. Buyer Beware.
