  Grizzleheim Announcement
We're proud to officially reveal plans for Grizzleheim, a new world to be added to Wizard101.

Inspired by Norse mythology, Grizzleheim is an airy, outdoor landscape of snowy mountains, glacial ridges and towering trees that is home to three new Wizard101 tribes - Bears, Wolves and Ravens.

Players will first encounter the Viking Bears of Grizzleheim, great traders with the ability to travel the worlds of the Spiral, in the free-to-play areas of Wizard City.

As student wizards adventure through subsequent worlds, Grizzleheim will offer new quests, new locations to explore, new opponents and new Viking-themed decorative housing items interspersed throughout the mid and higher levels of the game.

Dueling the Devs
This morning, KingsIsle's very own J. Todd Coleman, creator of Wizard101, agreed to a duel with one of the game's biggest fans - "Angel DragonGem".

Angel, a devoted player since the game's early Beta period, is an accomplished Player vs. Player duelist that sports a rank of "Commander" in the Arena. Coleman finally found a break in his schedule long enough to compete against the exceptional duelist.

After a long match, Angel DragonGem pulled out ahead by using the "Immolate" spell and several blades to make his attack more potent. Coleman, "Zachary FrogSlinger", was defeated and provided us with the comments below the pictures.

Wizard101 Maintenance
Wizard101 the game will be offline on Tuesday May 19th from 3am to approximately 4am Central US Time. During this maintenance period, you will not be able to log in to the game, and players who are logged in will be prompted to log out. During this time, the website may also experience intermittent outages. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we make technical upgrades to both the game and the website.

Protector Set Extension
Due to the delay in getting the Wizard101 cards out to Rite Aid®, we have extended the availability of the Protector Set pets until 30 June 2009! For more information, see our Gift Cards Page.

Housing Quest Rewards
Some of our higher level Wizards are concerned that they are unable to obtain housing items that are now given as rewards for quests they have already completed. We made the decision to keep those items exclusive to those quests in preparation for upcoming enhancements to Wizard101.

We invite you to create a new Wizard (you can have up to six!) and progress through those quests to obtain these items. You'll be able to experience all the new Voice Overs we have added to Wizard101, and all housing items available through quests can be traded between characters using the Shared Bank.

All the housing items available to purchase with Crowns can also be found as rewards for winning duels against creatures of the Spiral.

Creative Writing Updates
Wow, we have some prolific writers who are fans of Wizard101. It's only the 10th of May and we're already on our second page of Creative Writing Submissions!

Our Creative Writing Section under the Wizard Society is where we showcase the wonderful adventure stories of Wizards like you. If you are under 13 years of age, ask your parent or guardian for permission to send us your story. If you would like to submit something, send it in an email to community@wizard101.com and be sure to include your character name!

We won't correct your spelling, so be sure to check your homework over before you submit it! And don't worry, you're not being graded on this work!

Rite Aid® Update
Folks, we know you've had some trouble locating the Wizard101 Gift Cards at Rite Aid®.

We got a message from Rite Aid® that the cards are rolling out this week and will start hitting stores over the next couple of weeks.

We're sorry for the confusion, but know that you will see them very soon.

Wizard101 Downtime and Quick Fix
Wizard101 the game will be offline 08 May 2009 during our regular maintenance period of 3am to 4am Central time to address issues with items disappearing from dorm and housing walls. After the update, your items should appear where you placed them. If you still notice something is missing, please let Mr Lincoln know by submitting a bug report by going to Wizard101.com the website and clicking Help & Support. There you will find a link to Contact Us with all the details.

Missing Pictures
Good news is that your picture is not completely missing. It would appear that due to the application of some faulty magical paint during construction, your wall hanging was teleported into the walls of your new home! We are working around the clock scheduling construction workers in as soon as possible to get all of our new home buyer’s walls fixed with the correct paint.
In the meantime, I would suggest not hanging any more paintings/wall hangings. We will post on the message boards and the Ravenwood news when this is fixed!

Castles & Lands Now Available!
Housing in Wizard101 is called "Castles & Lands". All players start out with a dorm room that they can immediately decorate. Upgraded housing can be purchased using in-game gold from vendors in each of the worlds. Players must be level 10 to purchase Castles & Lands.

Players can teleport to their own house using the "Go Home" button, or over to a friend’s house via their Friends List.

Look for the friendly turtles to start you on your way, but first Simeon in Ravenwood has a quest for players over level 15!

Once you've received a housing deed, you can move out of your dorm room and into a more luxurious Castle on a floating Island of your own! You can own up the three Houses plus your Dorm, and select your new house and select it just like anything else in your backpack.

When you click the "Go Home" icon, you will appear at your new home. You can always teleport back to the hub of the world you're currently exploring, or use the World Gate on your Island.

If you'd like to move between homes or even return to your dorm room, just use your backpack to select the home of your choice. When you are on your private Island, you can return to your Dorm Room by pressing the "Go Home" button.

KingsIsle Extends Wizard101® Gift Card Program to Rite Aid® Stores

Rite Aid® has joined KingsIsle Entertainment's newly launched gift card program for family-friendly hit virtual world game Wizard101® (www.wizard101.com). Prepaid Wizard101 gift cards in $10 and $20 increments began shipping to Rite Aid stores nationwide today.

"With the addition of Rite Aid, Wizard101 fans will now find gift cards in more than 13,000 retail locations nationwide," said KingsIsle CEO Elie Akilian. "More major retail outlets are set to join the program in the coming months."

Each card offers a limited edition collectible pet available upon redemption from one of four special sets: Protectors, Assistants, Adventurers, and Heroes. Pets from these sets will give players unique powers and spell cards. Beginning with Protectors, a new set will become available each month. Wizard101 gift cards are an affordable birthday gift or child reward, and a way to unlock new areas of the game or purchase in-game gear such as wands, treasure cards and holiday items. The gift cards at Rite Aid will offer collectible pets that are different from other retailers participating in the program. Cards are expected to arrive in Rite Aid stores over the course of the next week.

Wizard101 TEST Realm(not the live game) will be offline on Monday May 4th from 9:00am to 3:00pm Central US Time. During this downtime you will not be able to log in to the Test Realm, and we invite our players to continue to enjoy the Live Realm.
