fighting Roberto

I never got the "unlocking the truth" quest for my first wizard, so never fought Roberto and gotten access to skeleton keys. How do I get to Roberto? I've tried going back to Diego, but the quest doesn't appear in the dialog.

I think you get a skeleton key after you beat Lord Nightshade. Have you done that quest yet?
