Skunk cabbage exists in the real world. Its name sounds funny and it evokes funny visuals, including two famous cartoon skunks. So I think it fits the flavor of Wizard 101.
It seems a natural candidate for compatibility with stinkweed. Skunk cabbage might like stinkweed, or stinkweed likes skunk cabbage, or they like each other. Obviously skunk cabbage might be disliked by many other plants the way stinkweed is disliked by all or most other plants except for itself.
Taking inspiration from one of the famous cartoon skunks, skunk cabbage might like plants with cat features, e.g. dandelions or tiger lilies.
But the cat-themed plants might dislike skunk cabbage. I think that would represent a new situation in gardening: a conflict between one plant liking another but the second plant disliking the first. It would present the careful gardener with choices of whether it's worthwhile to plant them together.
