I think it would be cool if wizards would be able get any mount for one gold and be able to hatch a pet for free on their birthdays. Please consider this.

If you want the prize, you have to build the ladder rung by rung. There are no shortcuts.

How about on their Wiziversary? (i.e. the 1-year anniversary of their account being activated.) Providing of course, that they renew their subscription and are still active.
That would effectively do the same thing. Once a year, they get something special. On their "wizard's birthday".
