Hello all wizards and KI Admins alike. Seth MoonShade here with an idea that I think would revolutionize the game. I am not sure that this has been a suggestion in the past. One thing that I believe would really turn this game into a strategy game where the school differences only matter in the ways which they matter, is if we allowed each duelist to have access to every card in their deck from the onset of the game. That is to say, if you have a full 64 card deck, you can see the deck grid in the way you would if you were looking at your deck before combat and choose what spell you want to cast. So, since turn based PVP is a thing now, and it feels more like playing RNG Chess, let's actually emphasize the strategic side of the game. There is no better way to do this than to allow every wizard to cast what they want to cast on their turn as opposed to looking through their deck or discarding to get to their side deck. Every move would have a logical, accessible counter and the only way to win duels would be to implement better strategic planning than your opponent. I cannot stress enough how many times I have been in duels against other players and wished I had a certain card at a certain time to respond to something the opponent did in a logical way. I am always a big advocate for pushing the game away from RNG and into the field of strategy more than anything. We do not have to get rid of RNG entirely and every school can keep their differences, but as far as having access to the spell you want on the round you want it, I don't see a problem with that. Perhaps we can test this before taking it to the live game. Let me know what you think.
