What is Deer knight based off of

I'm just curious what Deer Knight is based on or is it like an original spell.

Deer Knight is based off the deer knights seen in the later stages of Avalon.

Funny thing about deer knight, it's actually a pun on the phrase "Dear knight"

Like it's not like anything from mythology and a second question I got what is snow angel based off of

Do spells need to be based off of something? Can't you give credit to the developers being creative & original?

It could be based off on the wendigo from Algonquian folklore. According to Wikipedia, the wendigo is a "mythical man-eating monster or evil spirit native to the northern forests of the Atlantic Coast and the Great Lakes Region of the United States and Canada." Many artists depict this creature as deer-like, so it seems the Deer Knight spell could be based off on this.
