Ever wonder what those spell cards meant by "Reduce threat on target"? Well, this post will explain everything.
For starters, here's the threat scale (by no means exact): -4: Enemy will never attack you. -3: Enemy will very rarely attack you. -2: Enemy will usually not attack you. -1: Enemy will attack you, but would probably prefer other players. 0: Enemy will randomly attack you but based on other players' threat may prefer them instead. 1: Enemy will prefer attacking you to other players. 2: Enemy will usually attack you. 3: Enemy will almost always attack you. 4: Enemy will always attack you.
The spells Pacify, Calm, Subdue, and Soothe will knock down the enemy's threat by 1. The spell Distract will increase threat by 1 and the spell Taunt will increase all enemies' threat by 1. The spells Mega Pacify, Mega Calm, Mega Subdue, and Mega Soothe will knock down the enemy's threat based on how many pips you have: 1-4 pips reduces threat by 1. 5-8 pips reduces threat by 1-2. 9-12 pips reduces threat by 1-3. 13-14 pips reduces threat by 2-4.
Notes 1. When you start a 1v1 or 1v2 battle, the enemies have infinite threat toward you. 2. If another player joins, the mob in the first slot will have 3 threat towards player 1 and -3 threat towards player 2. The mob in the second slot has reversed threat stats. 3. If there are more mobs than players, then the mob in the extra slot automatically targets player 1 with 3 threat and the others with -3. 4. When a mob dies, all remaining mobs gain 1 threat towards the killer.
