How is it i gain 2 pips my first turn?

im level 39 death student i gain 2 pips my first turn. sometimes both power pips this has been happening since level 32ish i cant remember 100%. MY fiance is level 38 fire she doesnt get this do i have something on i dont know about?

Many items give you an extra starting pip.

Check the stats of items you've recently acquired and equipped, one will state that it gives a starting pip or powerpip.
If you want the prize, you have to build the ladder rung by rung. There are no shortcuts.

As Zeke said, just check your items for the stat that says +1 [O] or someting like that. It is usually the wand.
