Wizard101 has several Realms for our players to enjoy. All the Realms are identical and you can switch between Realms easily when you're not in a duel. Simply press Esc and select the very last top on the tab with the above icon - and you will see a list of Realms to choose from.
CTRL - M is the shortcut key to bring up this section of your journal.
Why switch Realms? Players may choose to switch between Realms that are more or less populated based on their play style.
If you are looking for players to adventure with, you may wish to switch to a Realm with a higher population.
If you are having trouble meeting up with friends or family, make sure you are all meeting up on the same Realm!
We try to put you back into the Realm that you logged out of, but if for some reason it has filled up, we will log you in to a different realm. It has nothing to do with your internet connection, but simply the population of the Realm when you log back in.
Choosing a realm that has a normal or perfect population will mean you have a better chance of getting into that realm when you log in. Choosing a realm that is usually Crowded or often full will lower your chances of being logged into that realm next time.
Remember you are free to change to a new realm every 30 seconds!

Yes that is normal. When you log out the game while you are in your house (whether others are there at the time or not) you will be returned to your prior location when you recalled him.
