Just mixed a pet with 300 intelligence (50 coming from astute) with a pet with a 250 intelligence to obtain a newly hatched pet with a 215 intelligence. How does this even happen?????
Stat boosters do not affect the base stats of the offspring. And the base stats are not an average of the parents. Did the pedigree of the offspring also drop below the parents'.
