Yes! You can have up to 6 wizards! There are 7 schools so you'll have to decide which school to miss out, but to do this you can still try them ALL out and delete a wizard to replace it with another if you want. You can have 6 wizards at any time though and they can share things via the shared bank - it's really useful!
Their houses and things in their backpacks will be for that wizard only (unless you move it through the shared bank to another wizard). There are a few items that are 'no-trade' that can't be moved and houses can only be moved once every 90 days. We can only hold one house in the shared bank at a time and the wizard taking it out must have a free housing slot. We get 3 housing slots on each wizard to start us off and can purchase more from the crown shop if we want more...there is also an event called 'house-a-palooze that comes around every few months giving housing related things at discounted prices eg half price Additional Housing Elixirs and half price Bric-A-Brac Elixirs.
It's very useful to have more than one wizard even if you're not yet doing any serious levelling on them. They each get a dorm, backpack, bank and attic straight away for additional storage. They can hold reagents and jewels etc for you too.
If you level them up a bit you will be able to use their energy for pet training, fishing and gardening...and use their hatch timer for extra hatches too! Level 15 is excellent for a helper-wizard you're not ready to quest yet - they can buy houses, do gardening, fishing, hatching, pet training, basic crafting...they can really help your projects and gold supplies
No doubt you'll love them too and end up questing them up as well
