The buried truth

So I got the quest that says to "find the buried truth". Why is it that that is the only quest where my compass does not work on? And even when I get to the graveyard nothing happens, What am I missing?

There's no quest arrow for that. There's only one graveyard in the Haunted Cave.

You need to walk around the graves until you get a prompt. They're on the left of the building Lord Nightshade is in.
