It's possible, if you're trying to move along the outside edge of the board (to avoid the enemies), that you're hitting a no-access spot (the game believes that you're not on the board although it appears that you are) and the game will sometimes move you over a bit to an accessible spot so you can continue.
If this is happening in the middle or inside part of the board, send in a ticket to Support.
