This is a Counterweight West/East strategy. First, you need 2 people and many potions and/or be good and fast at mini-games. Next, go in the Counterweight. :P Next, pull the first lever. :P Next, have one person go in the battle. The other will go pull the lever and go around to the gate. Have the person in the battle flee and use a potion and/or play a mini-game to get full mana. Then just keep doing that to go to the boss. Good luck, young wizards!

No you don't need 2 people. At all. The bait and switch (which is what you are describing here) isn't necessary for these, although it would work in Big Ben and The Final Countdown (which is where I've used it with others before). You kind of forgot to mention that you have to be friends and the one who fled must port back to the one who stayed inside.
