been a long time since I did that quest and need in to finish side quest . . . I either can't find it or there is no access. I need explicity clear directions to get to the tower and get in; the map is useless.

If I remember right, it's the big tower in the middle of all the other side towers. You go to the top and there's a teleporter that will take you directly to Xarathax.
If you look closely on the map in the link below, there's a small green triangle pointing near the ghoul's head. That's where Xarathax is. The tower that gets you there, however, is the one in the middle with a brown circle inside.

taking your direction about center tower, I couldn't see a center tower, but somehow I got there; don't know why I can't remember that path when I've done it more than a dozen times! Think I forgot it already again! LOL
