Not receiving level 35 spell quest!

I'm level 37 (almost 38) at the moment and I've just unlocked Mirkholm Keep.

Why is Baldur Goldpaws not giving me the I know a guy.../thief of spells quest?

I was having internet connection issues for the past few days, so I'm eager to get the ball rolling again. Dark Pact would be a real boon.

You might have to go talk to Baldur Goldpaws in Wizard City (near the Bazaar) before you talk to Erik. I think I remember having to make a side trip to Olde Towne before getting started on the spell quest.

Nevermind, pardon me. I failed to complete a prerequisite quest, namely One in the Snout.

It is an odd prerequisite, considering it has nothing to do with the spell quest. I believe the quest that unlocks Mirkholm would make more sense as a prerequisite.

Consider that feedback.

You have to complete "One in The Snout" in Mirkholm Keep before Baldur will notify you. That quest is given by Osric Grimbold.
