I know you can transfer characters between accounts but can you transfer the unlocked area's you've unlocked with your crowns too it would kinda be useless otherwise.

No. Only items on the character transfer. Account-wide features stay with the account.
Remember, one of the requirements to actually do the transfer is that both accounts are linked and both have a one year membership. So for at least a portion after the transfer, all the areas are unlocked for the membership duration.
