Winterwing Wardens??

Okay, I have a quest to defeat three Winterwing Wardens to collect a feather. Well I have defeated about 10 of them and still have NOT gotten a feather. Am I missing something? Is there a problem with this?

Does your quest say "defeat three Winterwing Wardens" to collect a feather?

Or does it say "defeat Winterwing Wardens and collect 3 feathers" ?

I know that I did that quest, but can't remember the wording. And I don't remember having a problem with it...other than the normal "did not collect" at the end of the battles.
