Please remove having to play Whirleybuirley from quest line
Not everybody will play this game, and it is VERY slow. Requiring people to play this game on the MAIN quest line just slows everything down to a crawl. Keep the game, and maybe have us talk to the vendor instead of playing the game itself. Leave that part optional, or as a side quest.

you don't have to win the game for the quest
and once you get a taste of it, you might actually like it.
There are plenty of other things in the main quest line that are boring and tedious, like the cheating bosses, let's remove THEM instead.

it's not a matter of needing to win it, (dis)liking it. It's a pointless distraction on the MAIN quest line. Keep it as a side quest, that's fine, but it doesnt need to be a main story piece.

it's not a pointless distraction, and it's a good way to introduce it to players. It's intrinsic to the npcs in that area as they are all huge sports fans.
As far as "disliking" it goes - okay, you don't have to do it more than once. you're done with it, move on. There are lots of things to dislike in this game that we have to do to progress - like fighting bosses that non-stop cheat. The cheats aren't usually necessary after all. Or fighting mobs that aren't balance but use weaken.

we're just going back and forth. Cheating enemies is not what this thread is about, nor is it the same thing. Im fine with them being sports fans, but playing the game has 100% nothing to do with beating monsters along the storyline quest. If you win Whirley, do you get a weaker version of the monsters? No. Do you gain any additional XP (winning vs losing)? No. Do you gain ANYTHING AT ALL from playing the game during questing? No. It slows down your progression, as if there werent already tons of slow down points already.
I understand you disagree, and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. I just don't share it.

Honestly I don't think whirleybuirley is a waste of time. Yes it doesn't have anything to do with the main storyline but I think KI put the game in the main questline as a way for our wizards to have a break from fighting mobs, bosses, or dealing with disagreements between npcs. Like what was said before you only have to do it once and after that you're done, unless you have other wizards you're questing with. You don't have to win to complete the quest you just have to participate.

It's not about winning or losing, it has nothing to do with the story line and takes a LONG time to play one game. Nine rounds is a crazy long time to play a game that can't be skipped, especially when it HAS to have 3 players. Maybe if the game was less rounds during the quest line, but the full 9 rounds in regular play. It's just such a chore to slog through a minigame, just to advance your storyline quest line
